It's starting to come together...
Happy belated Valentine's Day everyone! Hope you and yours had a wonderful day. Ours was spent quietly at home, drinking fine wine while making a lime/garlic/butter halibut in the pan. Doesn't get much better then that, now does it ;).
Well, the last month has been quite a productive one in the wedding department. We recently booked our Chef, Photographers, and Officiant for the big day! We cannot be more excited and lucky to have these folks be a special part of our lives - that will ultimately be a part of yours.
Armando "Tiny" Maes has been nothing short of spectacular since our first meeting, where he cooked a phenomenal meal for us, thanks to Katie's high school friend Kacie! We have a great chef and an equally great person who will serve up as much love on a plate as will be at the event that day. Or at least he'll try... Tiny's emphasis on Mediterranean and local, sustainable food is right up our alley and our concept of what life means to us. Enjoy!
Chavvon and Larissa Smith capture incredibly intimate moments in the most crisp, clear manner, which made us fall in love with their work. After consulting with them on Skype and sealing the deal with a cyber 'hi-five', we are so thankful to have the two of them run amok, snapping pictures on our special day. They had their choice of Mexico vs California...thankfully they were still available for us, and that they're family with our good friends Stephanie and Tyrone! One thing we ask of our guests...when the camera's focused on you, at least act like you're having a good time ;)
Nance Urban speaks in the most heart-felt, passionate, and honest manner; she is a person who you'll always remember. Upon my first introduction, she casually mentioned officiating weddings in the past...in rare fashion, both Katie and I came to the same conclusion at the same time, and solidified our decision a few days later! "Ms. Urban" was Katie's third grade teacher, so you know the ceremony will be touchy-feely... maybe we'll provide crayons so you can properly express yourselves.
With all that being said, it has been six fun-filled years since Katie and I first started dating. It looks like we'll be adding 10/08 to our calendar, but 02/15 will always be close to our hearts.
Big Love,
J (with K's editing input of course)
