On our first visit to the Outdoor Art Club, we had a wonderful docent, Nancy, who toured us around the facilities and told us about the history of the club. The grounds are beautifully kept up and surrounded by trees and plants, creating an urban escape within the town of Mill Valley. The building was designed by Bernard Maybeck, a California architect who practiced in the Arts & Crafts style, and is a Nationally Landmarked site. Along with the amazing setting, the Outdoor Art Club was founded in 1902 by a group of women to save the redwoods. They developed into a private, non-profit women's organization who gives their proceeds back to local community programs every year.
With the architectural significance, natural setting, and community focus, we feel we found the perfect place to seal our commitment and celebrate with all of you!
